Everywhere we go whether it be in the “geek/nerd” community, cosplay community and beyond, there is almost guaranteed to be a series of discussions by users with body/image concerns seeking help, support and encouragement in a weight loss journey or just to “get fit” especially before a con or event. Having Criss’ brutally honest voice in a serious struggle is something a lot of us can learn from and perhaps use to find a path to move forward in a healthy way, as she has been working on herself.
Criss, you are an inspiration, a strong, geeky woman, and a wonderful role model. Thank you for your courage and honesty in your experiences. It’s something so many of us can (and hopefully will learn from).[pullquote align=right]Trigger Warning: Body image issues, eating disorder[/pullquote]

If you feel you may have an eating disorder or un-heathy body image, PLEASE seek support. You CAN recover. You CAN find help. You are so, so very not alone.
We recommend contacting NEDA:
You can call their Helpline on 1-800-931-2237, chat with a support person via their website or simply take an online ED screening to illuminate any issue you may be struggling with.
