Alchemixt Retires
Announced late Tuesday night, compLexity Gaming has announced that pro Hearthstone player Dan “Alchemixt” Walton is retiring from Competitive Hearthstone. The reason? He was apparently banned from the game permanently for, as he explains, “breaking Blizzard’s rules”. He went on further to state that although his intent was not malicious and unintentional, after various attempts to lift the ban he has called it quits. An odd loophole exists which would allow him to open a brand new account and rebuild from there, but he says that would not be financially feasible for him at this time. Alchemixt has accepted an offer to remain part of the compLexity Gaming family, seeking a new game to further his career.

main-wiiu-logoMewtwo and Lucas to Join Smash
During Nintendo direct live last week, it was announced that the very first DLC characters for Super Smash brothers will be Lucas and Mewtwo. The pricing for which seems to be $3.99 USD for one version (either 3DS or Wii U) or $4.99 for both. This will not be the last of the character updates as along with plans to balance current characters, they have an open ballot on the website for character suggestions from the public. I voted for Doctor Wily!

Nintendo’s aiimbo, character figures that unlock additional content, got a bit of love in the Nintendo direct. Tapping an aiimbo to your Wii U will soon unlock re-usable three minute “highlight” demos of a scene from a retro Nintendo original IP; Super Mario World was shown. Each aiimbo will have a unique, randomly assigned game attributed to it, so you’ll be able to try multiple amiibos to view more content. Along with an aiimbo for Mewtwo and Lucas and a Yarn Yoshi aiimbo (3 colors available), Splatoon will get Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy and Inkling Squid aiimbos, and Super Smash will launch its next wave with: Charizard, PAC-MAN, Wario, Jigglypuff, Greninja, Robin, Lucina and Ness, Dark Pit, Palutena, Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, Olimar, Dr. Mario and Bowser Jr. all before year end. Finally, it was announce that an NFC reader/writer peripheral for Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL and Nintendo 2DS, which offers the functionality for scanning amiibos, will also launch.

It seems to be true: The cartoonish-like horror game set in an animatronic pizza parlor has been marked by Warner Bros. who purchased the rights to make a movie based on the series. The film will be produced by Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg. Adam Stone and Jay Ireland have been penned as executive producers on the project.
