Tomb Raider Reborn

Tomb Raider Reborn

It is finally here! Just days away from launch, and I cannot wait. This is looking to be the best Tomb Raider to date and the reboot of going back to the roots – both hers and what made the first game so damn great – shows that it can be done, if done right. This is probably going to be one of my Game of the Year choices. Just sayin’!

Check the newest trailer and get ready for some Lara fun! #reborn  More

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Trailer

The new footage shows is a fresh look at the game that will appeal to the PvPers – and let’s face it, that is most people who play the game. EMP grenades, mini mechs, drones, quad-copters, and – wait for it – a heat ray will be just some of the weapons in your arsenal to rip the opposition to threads. More

Rugby League Live 2 Trailer

Rugby League Live 2 Trailer

I’m not sure how many of my gaming friends from the USA will jump into this – but I think they should give it a try (no pun intended) as it looks fantastic. Rugby League Live 2, developed by Big Ant studios have done an incredible job and, as an expatriate, I will not only be wanting to grab a copy, but forcing my brother-in-law to learn the game just enough that I can still kick his arse.

Because of my size I could only play one position in rugby – the half back – and loved the sport in both my school and college years. I remember attempting to catch an American football ball like a rugby ball and almost dying the first time. They have sharp pointy balls here. Not a phrase you hear a lot. More

Skyrim: Dawnguard DLC

Skyrim: Dawnguard DLC

The first expansion pack for Skyrim is now available for download on Xbox 360 at a cost of 1600 MSP.

Vampire Lord Harkon has returned to power and must be stopped from using the Elder Scrolls to destroy the sun in Skyrim’s first DLC, Dawnguard. With over 15 more hours of game play, you can join the ancient order and stop him or become the Vampire Lord – I know what I’ll be doing!

New features in Dawnguard include:

Change Your Appearance
Players can visit Riften’s Ratway and visit the woman who can change their appearance. Sim fans dance for joy!

Mounted Combat
Having a mount is finally worth a damn because you can now do melee and ranged combat while riding a horse. Now if only WoW would introduce this.

New Weapons, Armour, Spells, and Shouts
Use new weapons, armour, spells, and shouts, like the Soul Tear shout to rip the souls from your enemies and turn them into your minions. Uh. Yes, please.

Become a Vampire Lord
Choose to side with the vampires and become a Vampire Lord yourself. Hover across the ground, turn yourself into bats, levitate your enemies as you drain their life, and more. Eeek!

New Werewolf Perks
Werewolves now have their own upgradable perk system including Bestial Strength, Animal Vigor, and Savage Feeding. Roar.

New Locations and Creatures
Players can choose from two new fortresses to upgrade and call home. Discover lost valleys and travel to a new realm of Oblivion, the Soul Cairn. New creatures include Death Hounds, Gargoyles, Armored Trolls, and all new vampires and dragons.

This expansion is Xbox only and… naaah, just kidding! The new DLC pack will arrive on PC and PS3 next month.

Games of the week: The Amazing Spider-man and LEGO Batman 2

Games of the week: The Amazing Spider-man and LEGO Batman 2

Two very fun, geeky-games this week:

The Amazing Spider-man

Spidey is crawling everywhere over the coming eight days with the game released tomorrow and the movie swinging into theaters next week. This installment of the franchise acts as an epilogue of sorts for the movie allowing for a free-roaming open world play. The story line is pretty simple and, by not following the movie but taking place after it, allows for much more freedom. Spidey is to protect Manhattan from criminals all over the city and has really solid combat. More

Game of the Week: Lollipop Chainsaw

Game of the Week: Lollipop Chainsaw

This week sees the release of Lollipop Chainsaw from Warner Bros on the Xbox 360 and PS3. The story follows cheerleading zombie hunter, Juliet Starling, who has to fight the undead in her Californian high school. An evil goth druid, who happens to be Juliet’s former classmate, Swan, causes the outbreak bringing the walkers and demonic forces to her school.

Juliet isn’t trying to save the world on her own, however. It seems the Starling’s are a kick-ass family and she accompanied by her two sisters, Cordelia and Rosalind, as well as her boyfriend, Nick. Juliet and her high school sweetheart are joined at the hip. Literally. The poor lad suffered a zombie bite and so Jules had to lop off his head – but he lives on to wise crack and be placed on zombie bodies so the player can control them. More
