The Amazing Spider-man

Spidey is crawling everywhere over the coming eight days with the game released tomorrow and the movie swinging into theaters next week. This installment of the franchise acts as an epilogue of sorts for the movie allowing for a free-roaming open world play. The story line is pretty simple and, by not following the movie but taking place after it, allows for much more freedom. Spidey is to protect Manhattan from criminals all over the city and has really solid combat. More

Spiderman has swung into Japan for an amazing premier! Why launch in Tokyo? It appears that is actually where the biggest Spidey fan-base is located. At the ceremony a stuntman (or perhaps Spidey himself) swung over the crowd and scaled a building (f’reals!) before the stars of the movie took to the stage. Andrew Garfield dons the mask in this reboot with Emma Stone taking up the role of Gwen Stacy – Peter Parker’s first girlfriend before Mary-Jane came on the scene. A new TV spot released this side of the pond as well:

Subsequently, DC Comics have announced that one of their main characters, who has always been assumed straight, will come out soon. Naturally the anti-gay folk ate this up with outcries of “I use comics to escape real life, I don’t want to have to do deal with that in my fantasy world” and “why should my children be exposed to this?
