Believe it or not, there are some people out there that still need convincing to watch this film.
If Joseph, Zooey or even Matthew Gray Gubler who has a small part in it are not enough to make you watch it, I’m going to try to convince you… now.
500 Days of Summer follows the story of Tom, a young architect that lives by writing greeting cards, and his failed relationship with a young woman named Summer. It’s a nonlinear narrative that follows their relationship through its highs and very highs to their lows and super lows.
“That’s not new, I’ve seen failed relationships in movies since I was born”, you might say.
Well yes I know, but I am sure in 90% of those movies the girl is the victim who suffers from a broken heart and the dude has a heart of steel, right?
Not in this case.
Because, you’ll see: sometimes it’s the girl who is not into a committed relationship.
“An offbeat romantic comedy about a woman who doesn’t believe true love exists, and the young man who falls for her.”
This film has many things that appeal me: the story, the acting, the photography (which many might consider hipster but I don’t care) and most of all, the realness of it. Things like these happen and no one will deny it.
And that’s why 500 Days of Summer is my recommendation of the week.[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsD0NpFSADM&w=560&h=315]
